Brevard County Jail

Closing Advice

Interview with PJ, Katherine, Jimmy and Baldy

JM: Is there anything else you would want a friend or family member to know if they have a loved one going to jail?
PJ: Send cards and letters to help pass the time
Katherine: Jail is nothing fun. ITs an absolutly nasty and i mean nasty place. And you might want to write letters and visit them as often as you can because it gets extremly lonely in there. I didnt have any mail or visits for 402 days. And even though the phone bill might go through the roof, let them call too. Even if you seen Tv shows about jail, Trust me, Its nothing like that, ITs worse. And if you can send them some money for commissary because even though you get 3 meals a day its not much food. Give them a little extra so they can buy some so they dont stay hungary like I did.
Jimmy: write notes and visit alot
Baldy: write letters, uplifing letters, send pictures if you can, dont send no bad news, its all depressing enough in here.

JM: Is there anything else you would recommend to a future inmate?
PJ: no
Katherine: All i can say is please keep your head up because you dont stay in jail forever. Thats what i thought at first but i got through it. And its not worth getting into a fight in there unless you want to spend most of your time in a 6x9 room and its a small room,.
Jimmy: stay out of trouble in the first place
Baldy: yes, dont try to escape, its almost impossible.
